Joy Austria holds an MLIS from Dominican University in River Forest, IL. Her research article, “Developing Evaluation Criteria for Podcasts”, won the 2007 Best Student Paper award and is published in the December issue of Libri (vol. 57, no. 4). Joy’s research interests are in the evaluation and cataloging of new media, specifically podcasts.

As an undergraduate nursing student at Loyola Univeristy Chicago, Joy worked for two years at WLUW 88.7 FM. She was the assistant news director, a news anchor, and on–air talent.

Joy works at the Newberry Library in Chicago, IL. When not entering metadata Joy enjoys all things Joss Whedonesque, feeding her iPod, playing cello, twisted animation, watching live music with friends...and an occasional nap.

AJ Hannah completed his Masters in Library and Information Science at Dominican University in River Forest, IL.

Prior to finishing his degree, he was co–owner of an independent cafe and did communications for the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association.

He has been involved in recording and audio production for himself and other local Chicago musicians for over seven years now and is interested in applying this knowledge to podcast production.

When not reading or doing audio production, you can find him playing guitar, checking out independent Chicago cafes and catching some of the latest local musicians and bands.

Rory Brown is a high school dropout. He attended a state university and acquired a Master’s degree in library and information science at a private Catholic university in Illinois. He was one of several DJs on a weekly community radio show before he dropped out of high school, and has appeared on at least one other undisclosed podcast in the past. Rory is currently a librarian at an undisclosed branch of the Chicago Public Library.

Rory enjoys the finer things in life.

Jennifer Kelley is a librarian at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill. where, in addition to reference and instruction, she works on integrating social software applications into library services. She has created and taught workshops on collaborative technologies and has presented on the topic of social software and libraries at the Popular Culture Association and LOEX of the West.

She is an occasional blogger and the selector for the library’s popular Rental Collection, writing reviews of new films on DVD in the blog column “Movie Mondays”. Her interests also include library outreach and marketing.

When the weather co-operates, Jennifer practices sustainable urban gardening and enjoys biking to any of Chicago’s many farmers’ markets. During the other nine months of the year, she works on perfecting the arts of scarf knitting, wine drinking and creative house renovation.

Jennifer holds an MFA in English from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MLS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she graduated from the LEEP program.

Lisa Schoblasky holds a MLIS from Dominican University in River Forest, IL where she was a production intern for the online publication World Libraries. She is currently employed at the Newberry Library in Chicago, IL.

Joy tried to think of something witty and funny to write, but alas poor Yorick she ain’t much of a writer.
